Halloween

Maybe...no...definitely our most brilliant Halloween moment yet.
The mummy.

Credit to Ken for the brilliant idea.
Credit to me for the brilliant execution.

She's at that stage where she's walking very unsteadily and always has her arms out in front of her to keep her balance.  Ken came home from work and saw her and said you should make her a mummy for Halloween. Why didn't I think of that? Perfect.
Julius decided he wanted to be a ghost this year.
So we did classic Halloween.

I bought some old sweatpants and a sweatshirt, cut a white sheet in strips and used fabric glue.
Easy.
I also bought a $2 white beanie and glued strips on it for her hat.
The more she fell down and got dirty and the more the sheet started shredded and hanging off her...the better she looked.

I just couldn't get enough of it.
So cute and so perfect.

This guy on the other hand didn't want to cooperate. This was the first year he's decided on his own costume.  Months ago he started saying he wanted to be a ghost.
Easy enough.
I just cut eyes holes out of the sheet but he didn't like that. He didn't want his face covered.
Okay.
So I cut a face hole and decided we would just paint his face white and his eyes a little black to make him look more ghostly.  The second he caught a glimpse of the face paint in the mirror he had a complete meltdown.
"IT'S TOO SCARY!"
There was no changing his mind.  He would not leave the house until we washed it all off.
He still looks cute though not very ghostly from the front.
Haha..oh well.

Next year Ken and I will dress up. I just keep running out of time.

He looks pretty ghostly from the back though.

My friend Amanda...who won best costume.
She looked great.

Goodbyes

The older girls were at school but Julius and Henry said their goodbyes over a Halloween happy meal.

This picture doesn't really show the size difference...but Naomi is SO much bigger than little Rilla.  And Naomi is only 1 month older than Rilla!

It's like I'm not even holding a baby after lugging Naomi around all the time.

Cookie Party

After dinner on our last night in Kentucky the kids helped me make Halloween cookies.

The buffer between the two little boys.

 Uncle Ken

 Uncle James

Showing off his scary eyes.

This really represents how these two got along.
Maybe next year will be better.

 The girly cousins.
(Can you see how big Naomi is?)

 Annie made this.

 Aunti Em

Rilla is adorable and so tiny.
All of Em's kids are so little.

 I love their backyard.
Behind the tree line is just a huge field with cows in it.

 My sous chef Annie.
Helping me make sugar cookies.

This picture made me laugh because it doesn't really look like Naomi to me.
She's got some strange hair thing going on too.
