Grandma's Visit

My mom came to town at the end of June to stay with us through July! I love it when my mom's here but I think Julius especially enjoyed all the one on one time with Grandma!

One of Julius' favorite things to do is go out in the front yard with Ken and hit golf balls. Grandma bought him his own little golf club which is good for Julius and anyone standing in the vicinity since it's plastic! After lots of practice with dad he's actually a pretty good shot...I'm impressed.

Mom also bought and helped me plant a few flowers. I could do so much more with this space...maybe next year!

Dessert before bed.

Another favorite pass time...playing in the sprinklers. He always manages to get out the front door at the exact time the sprinklers are on...amazing considering I can't even keep track of their schedule.

Just Making Cookies

Julius helped me make cookies and thought it was great.

What's Julius Talking About?

Most of the time we don't really know but for the record here are all the words he knows at 22 months:

*Dada aka. Da I think this was also his first word
*mom This is not necessarily me. He'll say this to anyone. It means "Hey you"
*Mommy From what I can tell, most of the time this means me
*Don ie. The truck is don...or gone as we like to say.
*dal done all done
*ah-oh
*du duck
*dah dog
*yuck or eww
*on
*ball
*ee-oh one of the more cryptic phrases...clean up
*ee 1, as in the number one...he holds up one finger and says "ee"...I don't know where he got that and he refuses to believe the word is actually "one"
*book
*eye
*no
*ee-ya see-ya
*hi
*bye
*bum bum
* mine He just started saying this...no idea where he learned it
*hot
*owie
*yeah
*uh up

He still does signs for more, thank you and blanket.

When I say "love you" he'll give me a kiss. (If he's in a good mood)

He absolutely refuses to say sorry or please.

And his most common phrase goes something like "Mom! No! Owie! Owie! No! Mine, Mine, Mine!"

I think we're getting close to two!

The Little Guys First Camping Trip

A little misleading I guess...Ken took Julius on a camp out with the men from church, with no intention of actually staying the night. Julius is a fantastic sleeper, in his crib. Anywhere else can be a nightmare. So they went up for the evening, hung out, ate foil dinners, and apparently Julius ate A LOT of marshmallows. He came home sticky and smelling like campfire but oh so happy. I could tell he had a ball. He was wired and smiling from ear to ear like he just had the best night of his life. He loves hanging out with Ken's young men at church and he loves all of his uncles and his dad of course...he just likes hanging with the guys. So he was in heaven...running around outside, eating marshmallows with the dudes.

I sat on the couch in the same spot the entire time they were gone. It was a nice break.

I sent my camera with Ken and made him promise to take pictures...I'm lucky I got these.

My Birthday

So it's 31 this year...and I never really got used to saying 30. These are Ken's favorite few months...I'm 31 and he's 29. {But come September he'll join the 30's with me.} We had family over for cake on my birthday then the next day Ken's sister Adri babysat most of the day...fantastic present! Ken and I went to the temple in the morning then went and played tennis in the afternoon. Best day ever! And best present ever from Ken, he has so much work to do and taking some time off to hang out was wonderful...exactly what I wanted.

After tennis, looking like I ate too much...but actually that's 4 months pregnant.

And of course my little guy cuz my birthday had to include lot's of time with him too.
